Kalkan is an elegant harbour town, situated on Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast within an area of outstanding natural beauty which is steeped in ancient history. Today's postcard pretty Kalkan is quietly sophisticated with a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants offering all manner of culinary delights, together with an array of stylish and atmospheric blues and jazz bars.
THE BEACH
KaputaÅŸ beach - Around the ‘corner’ in the direction of Kas. The dramatic KaputaÅŸ beach is a five-minute dolmuÅŸ or taxi ride from Kisla. It is a beautiful sandy beach found at the foot of a ravine down many, many steps!
Patara National Park (and beach) is a 15 minute drive from Kalkan. It has a stunning eight miles/18 km long beach, voted one of the top beaches in the world by Times Online.
THE GOOD LIFE
This part of southwest Turkey with its gorgeous scenery is a superb place for nature-lovers and outdoor activity enthusiasts.
But Kalkan is famous for its outside dining. You won’t believe how many restaurants there are in Kalkan, over 180! Many of them are on roof terraces and have fantastic views of the harbour and the sea beyond.
KALKAN
Kalkan town centre with its extensive range of restaurants, bars and shops is approx 2.5km from the villas. This equates to a 25 min walk along the coast or a 5 min boat drive which runs from the 2 nearby beach clubs. There are also ample taxis available if required. The neighbourhood of the villas, Kisla, has some small general stores in addition to the beach clubs which serves basic meals. Opposite the villas is a nice restaurant and for a more substantial dining experience, two excellent restaurants are 5 minutes walk from the villas.
